Discovery of a stranded animal

The differentiated cleaning operation of the Landes coastline involves the evacuation of all animals stranded on the foreshore.
Strandings of marine animals are subject to specific regulations. Each stranding must be reported to the PELAGIS Observatory (based at the University of La Rochelle, 17), which has been mandated by the French Ministry of Ecology to coordinate the Réseau National d’Echouage (National Stranding Network, RNE).
A specific procedure has been put in place to deal with strandings.
